3D Price

3D printing price per cm3

Use volume pricing carefully for 3D print quotes.

Price per cm3 can help when you only have model volume, but final quotes still need material choice, infill, supports, print time, labor and failure risk.

Inputs

What 3D Price calculates.

Model volume from mesh files
Material density assumptions
Manual slicer time override
Support and infill review
Post-processing labor
Final margin and quote price

What volume pricing can do

Volume can produce a quick early estimate when a customer sends a model file. It is useful for screening requests before you slice the file properly.

Why cm3 is not enough

Two models with the same volume can have very different print times because of shape, supports, layer height, infill, orientation and material. Use volume as a starting point, not the final quote.

Move from volume to slicer data

Once the job is serious, slice the model and use print time plus material usage. That gives a stronger basis for electricity, wear, labor and margin.

FAQ

Questions about 3d printing price per cm3.

Can I charge by cm3 for 3D printing?

You can use cm3 for rough estimates, but final customer prices should also include print time, supports, labor and risk.

Is volume better than grams?

Grams are usually easier for material cost. Volume is useful when you only have geometry and need an early estimate.

Can 3D Price read model files?

Yes. STL, OBJ, PLY and AMF can create geometry-based starting estimates; G-code is better for final pricing.
